GyaanSchool (Basira): K-12 Learning Platform case study
GyaanSchool is a K-12 learning platform for school students in India, built for Basira: a .NET GraphQL core, Node.js microservices for questions, search, video and notes, and Angular apps, on Azure.
The Problem
A learning platform for school students grows in many directions at once: question banks, search, video lessons, notes and accounts, each with its own load. Basira needed GyaanSchool built so those parts could grow on their own, without one large app holding every feature back.
The Solution
Apex36 built GyaanSchool for Basira over a multi-year engagement. The core is a layered .NET solution with a GraphQL API. Around it, Node.js microservices handle authentication, an API gateway, questions, search, videos, notes and background workers. Students use Angular apps served from Docker containers behind Nginx. Builds and releases run through Azure DevOps pipelines, and the platform runs on Azure. The platform has not launched yet.
Features
.NET GraphQL core
A layered .NET solution (API, core, domain and persistence) with a GraphQL API.
Node.js microservices
Separate services for auth, the gateway, questions, search, videos, notes and background workers.
Angular student apps
Angular front ends in Docker containers behind Nginx.
Azure DevOps CI/CD
Pipelines that build, test and release each part of the platform on Azure.
Results / Impact
in India, on Azure. Not launched yet.
that grow independently around one GraphQL core.
FAQ
It is built for school students in India, from kindergarten to grade 12. It has not launched yet.
The .NET GraphQL core holds the main learning data. The Node.js services take the parts that grow fastest and need to scale on their own: search, questions, video, notes and background work.
On Azure, with builds and releases through Azure DevOps pipelines.
